Carte de Visite cut out of Thomann with a hand painted backdrop of a
landscape.
In it's original frame. Thomann was born in Alkmaar in 1874,
and active
as a photographer from 1894 until 1928. The address dates
this image
to 1897-1901, making Thomann 24-28 years old here. He's
posing with a travel version of a wet plate collodion camera although he
was commonly known for his carte de visites.
He died in de Bilt in 1946.
